XXXII TROFEU CIUTAT DE LLEIDA.

 Desde el Club Malpaisomys, nos desplazamos cuatro deportistas, para disputar el XXXII TROFEU CIUTAT DE LLEIDA el 27 y 28 de Septiembre junto a más de 120 arquer@s inscritos, llegados de todo el país y Andorra

                                 Según dicen, el tamaño no importa y tampoco la distancia del missing😊

Lleida competition.

I made my inscription early, and the entry list filled very quickly and officially closed before my team mates had secured places. Not the first time I had gone to a competition as a sole ambassador for the club. So I organised my transport and accommodation. To my surprise Carlos Susi and Doris managed to add themselves to the shooting line after contacting the organisers. The shoot a four distance 1440 in reverse order from short 30M to 70M.

My scores were reasonable but not significant, The main thing I took away is the need to become more comfortable shooting on a low level reduced target face. The 50M distance my weakest with several low or non scoring shafts. Points needlessly lost. The first day’s shooting placed me eleventh, which I managed to pull back two places on the Sunday morning. As all the Malpaisomy team were drawn in second  C/D detail we were all active on the line at the same time, missing the normal support and assistance that comes from a good set of friends. The dedicated archery field is situated by the river with tree and grass making it a perfect environment for bugs of various species to vigorously feed upon me. The welts still sore raised and angry six days on. I’ve never been comfortable with late nights or early starts so finding out that the others arrived at 5AM and partied until 3AM the next day I saw my independent arrangements as a blessing. The head 2 head elimination of the last 16 went well. The first round 7-3 in my favor against Antonio Lopez, before being retired 2-6 in the quarter finals. The second to last shot for my competition a snatch top right 5 to score with the two 9s that sat firmly at twelve o’clock an opportunity firmly lost by old habits. The clock for my return to Barcelona in mind I left my team mates and drove the 145km to return the hire car and catch my flight home. A close call with fifteen minutes to spare at check in, thankfully security was a doodle and the flight on time and without issues. Will I attend next year, possibly but in a neoprene diving suit, if only to retrieve the lost pen and unrecovered arrow, and of course meet up with new friends.

Era la primera vez que iba a disputar este ya famoso Trofeo, del que tanto había oído hablar. Los dos días de competición, transcurrieron en un ambiente de camaradería y buen "rollito"  La organización estupenda, en todos los sentidos. Quiero dar las gracias, a mis compis de diana Laura, Montse, Begoña y Ester que estuvieron pendientes de mi (Eso de tirar con arco y con una muleta al lado, como que no se lleva muy bien) Han sido dos días, de tirar flechas, un poco agotadores pero como dicir el refrán, sarna con gusto...... Fin de semana muy bueno, en grata compañía, que hubiera sido mucho mejor, si al final no nos hubiéramos tenido que quedar en Barcelona, Vueling voló, pero sin nosotros. Gary!!! a nosotros también nos pasan esas cosas. 😶 Y como siempre, me despido dando las gracias a mi "familia"

El fin de semana participé en el XXXII TROFEO DE LLEIDA TIR AMB ARC, una experiencia que solo puedo resumir con el título: “3 clics hacia la victoria”. Hasta el último momento estuve en lista de espera y, por si acaso, también entrené para participar en arco desnudo. Al final tuve la suerte de poder competir en mi disciplina junto con los hombres +50 en compuesto. Mi clasificación estuvo por debajo de lo esperado y no llegué a alcanzar lo planeado. La tarde, sin embargo, terminó con un ambiente fantástico gracias al tradicional sorteo de jamones y cajas de fruta. 

El domingo fue otra historia: físicamente me encontraba muy mal y estuve a punto de abandonar. Fue Violeta quien me animó a seguir y a participar en las eliminatorias —(gracias de corazón por ese empujón). Contra todo pronóstico, logré ganar la semifinal con una flecha de desempate y, en la final aunque empecé 0:4 abajo, conseguí darle la vuelta y vencer 6:4, con solo un punto de diferencia en las últimas 3 flechas. Nunca olvidaré el consejo de Carlos: a menos de 20 segundos del final del tiempo, ese ajuste marcó la diferencia.  Gary y Susi, gracias por vuestro espíritu de equipo y también enhorabuena por vuestros buenos resultados. El regreso fue más complicado: perdimos el vuelo y tuvimos que pasar una noche extra en Barcelona. Aun así, todo esto forma parte de la aventura.

Mi agradecimiento va también a los organizadores: el torneo fluyó con una naturalidad increíble, desde los anuncios de las pausas hasta la celebración al final. Sin duda, volveré.

A la victoria final de Doris y su tercer puesto en el clasificatorio, sumar el cuarto de Susi, el quinto de Txarly y el Noveno de Gary, que se quedó a las puertas de semifinales. Cada uno en sus respectivas categorías, un buen bagaje final en un trofeo nacional.
